SCHOOL AND METHODOLOGY
…team lingue International House, founded in 1983, is located at two centres LECCO e MERATE. Both of the schools are easily accessible with parking facilities, they have modern air-conditioned classrooms which are equipped with TV’S, videos and computers with internet connections. The atmosphere is both professional and friendly.
TEACHERS, METHODOLOGY AND THE LEVELS
All of our teachers are mother tongue and possess the relevant university qualifications for teaching Italian to foreigners. All courses are coordinated by the Director of Studies.
The teaching method is based upon “communication”, which runs along the guide lines set by International House. There are four fundamental levels of development (listening, speaking, reading and writing) which are needed for work and normal life
The school offers a variety of visual and technical supports, including books, DVD’s, VCR’s, projectors as well as authentic material, to optimize learning.
In order to place the students at the correct level, they have to complete an entrance test.
Level testing,( filling in the test, correction of the test, and result of the test), can be carried out via e-mail or fax.
There are 6 different levels, which are achievable with approximately 80 hours of learning. These levels are divided in two parts and therefore each sublevel is achievable in approximately 40 hours. These levels are
Beginner 1 e 2
False Beginner 3 e 4
Elementary 5 e 6 - Entry level for CELI 1
Pre-intermediate 7 e 8 - Entry level for CELI 2
Intermediate 9 e 10 - Entry level for CELI 3
Advanced 11 e 12 - Entry level for CELI 4 or CELI 5
Learning progress - "progress tests" every 25-30 hours – Final oral and written tests are conducted at the end of the course.
For the CELI EXAMS, held at the University for Foreigners in Perugia, it is necessary to complete the course at the corresponding level. There is also the possibility to prepare for the exam, following 2 exam techniques preparation modules, each 4,5 hours long.
